Stanowisko: Linux Systems Administrator – Netherlands

Our Client is a well-known agro-biotech company. They are an internationally renowned R&D company with long term partners in both the vegetable crops and in the field crops. Their international head office is in the city of Wageningen.

• You will participate in the system administration of a Linux HPC cluster and other Linux-based compute and storage environments.
• As a member of the IT-team you will help to ensure the general support, maintenance and improvements of computerized information and communication systems, in particular system and network architecture and information management.
• The IT-team safeguards the continuity of these systems which are used by all their employees.
• You will play a pro-active role in IT-team to achieve an optimal performing IT infrastructure.
• You will be part of the helpdesk which advises and helps (internal) customers with IT related questions.

• BSc/MSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a similar technical related education and experience;
• At least two years of experience as a Linux system administrator;
• Experience with maintaining an HPC cluster environment, including job scheduling (SGE) and shared file systems (NFS/CIFS);
• Knowledge and understanding of network and system architecture;
• Experience with application and database management, and enterprise-class environments in a commercial R&D setting are considered as strong assets;
• Fluent English;
• Open, enthusiastic team worker and excellent communication abilities;
• Disciplined, self-motivated and pro-active in the maintenance of an IT-environment in a commercial R&D setting, where support and prevention of production down time are essential;
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform under pressure and outside office hours;
• Able and willing to follow relevant courses where necessary.
